Looks like a pretty good slate, in my eyes.

In a bit of a rarity, Furman will get two games at home to start. I would think both Presbyterian and William & Mary will be winnable contests. W&M, from what I understand, will be a bit like we were last year - having to replace a lot of seniors at key positions.

Only once does Furman really have back to back road games, but they are both two of our shorter road trips - WCU and Wofford.

The only other place with back to back road games is Campbell and Samford, but there is a bye week in between.

I don't love playing Clemson at the end of the season, but these FCS games frequently get scheduled the week before "rivalry week" on the P5 schedules.

The Samford, ETSU, WCU, Wofford stretch could be tough.

Would be nice to beat both W&M and Campbell. Would be nice if the SoCon as a whole was better in the OOC this year.

Don't love having the bye in week 4 but everyone gets that early bye at some point. Might not be a bad thing to be able to debrief/self-scout before heading into a long stretch of conference play though.

Wonder if the Campbell game is a one time thingy? Campbell was 3-9 last season, 1-7 in the CAA. Their only conference win was NC A&T. Ooc wins were Delaware St and at WCU. I assume the CAA is still tied up with flosports? BTW that last regular season game(for us) will likely be against the number one team in FBS and odds on favorite to win the fbs national championship. According to the CU fans and radio peeps over on wccp their offense will be the best in the country and their new DC from Peen St. will make their D one of if not the best in the country. The good thing about Dabo he won’t run it up like LK did. Of course the football championship will follow their national championship in basketball a couple of months from now.

Reminder Jackal, no longer P5. Now P3.5 with the ACC being the .5.

Aug. 30 William & Mary - A state school now, but formerly an Episcopal school, originally Anglican. Born fully formed from The Glorious Revolution. I know they will likely be re-building, but it will be tough. FU 14 WM 3

Sept. 6 Presbyterian - Should be easy, because the Presbyterian Church USA is dying an awfully painful death. FU 31 PC 0

Sept.13 @ Campbell - Baptist. One never knows where they're coming from. FU 27 - CU 10

Sept. 27 @ Samford - Baptist. Oh, those people. Moreover, Alabama Baptists. FO 28 SU 21

Oct. 4 East Tennessee State (Family Weekend) - Began as a "normal" school. A misnomer. Wild and unpredictable folk up there in the tri-cities. FU 35 ETSU 21

Oct. 11 @ Western Carolina - They got Cherokee little people. Nuff said. Strange strange things happen in Cullowhee. FU 48 WCU 45

Oct. 18 @ Wofford - Methodists. John Wesley would be ashamed of what's going on over there. FU 19 WC 13

Oct. 25 The Citadel (Homecoming) - Took a gallant effort at tradition and masculinity and turned it into an excuse to anthropomorph rectal fistulas, re-enacting the drama every weekend. FU 38 Cit 13

Nov. 1 Mercer - Baptists. They ceaselessly come right back atcha. FU 28 MU 12

Nov. 8 @ Chattanooga - Now a state school; Originally a Baptist school. Those people always got tunnels. FU 38 UTC 12

Nov. 15 VMI - No one has been able to figure out what's going on up there. FU 45 VMI 14

Nov. 22 @ Clemson - Adrift in a sea of conflicting identities and afflicted by a build-up of bile, centered in the spleen. They suffer from a miasma, an unhealthy vapor arising from the egomaniacs with inferiority complexes that comprise the bizarre and frenzied IPTAY Cult. FU 28 CU 24. That's right. Furman will win. Read it and wipe it.

Nov. 22 @ Clemson - Initially an all-male, all-white military school, Clemson Agricultural College opened in July 1893. People who worship the earth, agriculture, and the harvest are generally called Pagans; belief systems that revere nature and often involve the worship of goddesses (FUBeAR worshiped at the altars of a few goddesses at Clemson…back in the day) and gods associated with the harvest and natural elements. Within Paganism, there are different traditions like Wicca and Druidism. Followers of earth religion have suffered major opprobrium over the years for being Satanists (there it is). So we are going from giving up 40-50 points regularly to a shutdown defense. Nice can’t wait.

I do not need to be very smart to realize that apaladin's final sentence is sarcasm. I do not believe he has drunk any Orange Kool-Aid.

I want to highlight FUBear's exegesis of known texts of Clemson's origins.

Clemson - Initially an all-male, all-white military school, Clemson Agricultural College opened in July 1893.

Please know that The Paladins will fight through eleven games in 2025, battling heresy, and end the season with a twelfth game against Paganism itself, in the High Altar of the Animism known in the Vulgate as Memorial Stadium. It tis a noble quest, to lay low the Witch Dabo even unto the dust.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
