Correct Monte, no such thing as a national letter of intent now.

Doesn’t seem like a PWO from how he wrote his offer post but we’ll see if he’s announced on Wednesday. Furman is his lone major offer from a quick glance

The wording in the athlete’s Twitter posts doesn’t have anything to do with if they are PWO’s unless that is specified. Lots of athletes with full ride offers will post on Twitter using wording along the lines of “I received an offer to continue my athletic and academic career”. It is really just personal preference for the athlete. I’ve seen MANY players with confirmed full ride offers at a number of D1 schools from P4 to FCS use “continue my academic and athletic career”.

Furman gets a commitment from an IMG LB, who did mention in his offer post it was as a PWO. Furman has gone into IMG a good bit recently -Holbrook, Eubanks, Kauserud, Everhart, and now Gaulding and Hanson. He set a school record with 40 tackles for loss. Definitely the kind of player you want to take if you’re Furman. Both Kuzemka and Scianna (who I think were both PWOs) were very productive players their last couple of years when McCormick was out.

For those who like everything in one place, this is the list of guys who Furman announced as additions this year.

RB CJ Nettles
WR Evan James
OL Brady Smith
OL Hunter Taylor
OL Bryce Rainwater
DE Maddox Dykeman
LB Caleb Ellison
LB Nick Simmons
DB Connor Adams
DB Caleb Easterling
RB Isaiah Davis
LB MJ Jenkins
TE Luke Clyburn (Newberry)
OL Davis Watson (Cornell)
OL Jaydon Collins (Wake Forest)
WR Kerry King (ECU)
WR Nick Ragano (Wake Forest)
DB Wesley Abraham (D3 Wesleyan)
DB Taylen Blaylock (Lindenwood)
DB Eddie Jackson (Bryant)

There are other guys who announced they committed to Furman. Maybe they aren't planning to sign yet, but I have always assumed that if Furman does not announce them, they are likely PWOs. That has recently been called into question, but strictly for the purposes of trying to make the scholarship numbers easier to keep track of I'm going to keep assuming that's the case. It's messy at this level with the ability to split the scholarships.

Guys who announced their commitment but were not announced as signed by Furman:

RB Emmett Grzebin
LB Jacob Hanson
OL Danny Stein
P William Pendergrass
DE/LB Mason Keely
WR Seth Roach
QB Brady Geibel
OT/DT Harris Jenne
WR Connor Morin
TE Joesph Madden
OL Edwin Gaulding
K Bruce Brown

I feel like I've missed one or two but that's what I could find during a quick twitter/x search.

Furman does a pretty good job of keeping their roster updated. I have always assumed that if they are on the roster, they are enrolled/bound to Furman. If they are not, then it's up in the air.

Need to add the enormous OL from IMG Gaulding.

Lot to like on Isaiah Davis' film. He fits the "new" type of target for Furman running backs - a smaller and quicker back skilled in the zone run game.

He put up 1500 yards in Tennessee 6A football, which is impressive. It looks like two of their three regular season losses were to two quarterfinalists, one of which was perennial power Maryville. So, he put up good numbers against some of the best football Tennessee has to offer.

Also like what I see with MJ Jenkins. Played MLB at a very good Florida program. Really impressive closing speed and tackling ability.

After watching the CCH interview, I found it very hopeful.
Coach mentioned getting our players in the weight room to get bigger, stronger, and faster.
He specifically mentioned Ty Kauserud was over 290 pounds. He's listed now at 6-4 293.
One other player's weight gain stood out - Dylan Chiedo. He's listed now at 6-2 243.

Back to recruiting…
Incoming freshman Edwin Gaulding has a number (71), I assume, which means he will participate in spring practice.
Next, I skimmed past a name, Connor Morin, stopped, and googled him. His name sounded familiar – it turns out he's the younger brother of Taylor Morin. Wake Forest's all-time receiving yards leader.
Connor looks like another one of those diamonds in the rough slot-type receivers Furman discovers. He's from Centerville, VA, and looks uncannily similar to Colton Hinton. Watching his film, I was surprised he didn't get offers.

Noticed this:

NG: Stephens 6'3 297
NG: Dudek 6'3 289
NG: Hernandez 6'4 312
NG: Knauber 6'1 296

That's a lot more depth than we started with last year.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
