Remember when espn actually televised baseball on the 4th? 3 or 4 games? Outside of hot dog eating it was all womens sports, live and replays today. They continue to try push women sports down our throat just like they have done with soccer.
Not exactly…
384,000 translates into no one is watching.FU3 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 05, 2022 3:00 pm“The 2021 Major League Soccer season on ABC and ESPN networks had delivered an average audience of 384,000 viewers (P2+) through 18 matches, a 50 percent increase compared to the 2020 regular-season average (257,000).”
ESPN has the same kind of problems as Netflix .An industry leader paying tons for content in a hyper competitive market. Soccer draws pretty well for a relatively small payment, doubt getting it on the cheap will last.
You’re correct… https://espnpressroom.com/us/espn-inc-2021-in-review/apaladin wrote: ↑Tue Jul 12, 2022 9:16 pm384,000 translates into no one is watching.FU3 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 05, 2022 3:00 pm“The 2021 Major League Soccer season on ABC and ESPN networks had delivered an average audience of 384,000 viewers (P2+) through 18 matches, a 50 percent increase compared to the 2020 regular-season average (257,000).”

Even the Premier League got out viewed by the hot dog eating contest 3-1 I think you might be high on that lacrosse match, more like 75, Yet espn continues to show replays of womens college lacrosse and soccer games instead of college football replays they should be showing this time of year. Its all a conspiracy.FU3 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 13, 2022 1:43 pmThose rubes over at Apple TV must not have been privy to those viewing facts and decided they needed to wash that $2.5 billion somewhere ( hot dog eating is locked in for years). They probably got confused by the trend of say Premier League viewership in the US.
The Comcast-owned broadcaster averaged a total audience delivery (TAD) of 507,000 viewers per TV match window across its NBC, USA Network, CNBC and NBCSN channels. This was up 21 per cent on the average TAD of 414,000 for 2020/21, not including exclusive Peacock streaming or Spanish-language broadcasts.
A record 12 matches this season averaged a TAD of at least one million viewers, which was 50 per cent above the previous record of eight in 2020/21 and 2015/16.
Of course I was among probably 150 viewers who watched the US Women win the Lacrosse World Cup last weekend on ESPNU so I have a soft spot for minor sports getting some coverage.
