Mark Wright gets the 1st start for WCU in the post-Tyrie era. Wright is a Jr., who attended 2 JUCO’s before showing up in Cullowhee.

Cats pick up a couple of 1st downs with nice short pass/run mix, but stall & will attempt 51 yd FG

VERY UGLY KICK .... Looked like one of FUBeAR’s skulled 4-irons. Flames will take over...

Liberty with a nice drive, overcomes a holding penalty that nullified a TD pass to stick it in running the ball.

Flames 7 Cantamounts 0 ... 6:47 left to play in 1st

TE down the middle vs. 2 -deep - wide open 40 yard or so TD pass for Flames

Doesn’t look like WCU’s D has digested their new DC’s scheme just yet.

14-0 Flames, early in 2nd Q

Cats go back to Will Jones (last year’s Tryie suspension replacement) and march down the field for a score. Big play was TE down the middle for long gain & TD pass to TE.

I see a theme developing here...

14-7 Liberty in 12:09 to play in 2nd

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
