Bertrand with a complete game in game one. In game 2 FU blew a 9-2 lead and a 9-5 lead with 2 outs in the ninth and lose in 13. Beeson had pitched well in relief but tired in the ninth and gave up a 2 run HR with 2 outs to make it 9-7. Then gave up another hit. Should have been taken out then but was left in and gave up anther 2 run HR to tie the game. Taylor was then brought in and proceeded to retire the next 10 batters in a row.
Head scratching decisions by CBH in game 2:
Not taking Beeson out after he gave up 3 hits and a 2 run HR. He then gave up another 2 run HR.
After Taylor retired 10 in a row he gave up a leadoff walk in the 13th. He gets yanked and 3 batters later we give up a walk off HR to the 9th place hitter.
With 2 outs and runners at first and second in the FU 10th inning he pulls one of the teams best hitters(Boswell) for a pinch runner. So you pull a good hitter for a situation that has a 95% chance of not happening.
After blowing the lead the game was over anyway as I think they could have played all night and Paladins would not have scored. They got one hit the last 7 innings.
You just can't get games like this back. Odds are heavily in UNCG's favor now to take the series on Sunday.
