• A plea for help

Not football related but I’m putting it here so deal with it.

Many, many years ago, a bleeding heart liberal that hated America, guns and Rush Limbaugh created a small little web forum called “The Unofficial Furman Football Page”.

That forum has given us few, the proud, the Paladins, an online community where we could criticize each other, insult each other, but unite in our hatred for Western Carolina, Marshall, Gay Southern and Wofford. And Citadel. And Hillary.

Like it’s creator, TheUFFP got bigger and bigger over the years, went through several changes, and recently, thanks to the misguided management of GoDaddy, who put profits over quality, sh*t the bed. Ok, Stumpy didn’t sh*t the bed. But TheUFFP died. PHIC, as we say.

TheUFFP has provided thousands of us a place vent about Furman sports, politics, religion and other members. It’s value to us can’t be measured in dollars and cents. But I implore you to try. There is a little link up at the top of the page titled “donate”. Because Stumpy is a Canadian Socialist he’s kept this portal open and free. And he doesn’t even ask for help. But since I’m a blood thirsty capitalist that measures all of human activity by the measure of profit that it generates, I’m imploring all of us to click on that link and help Stumpy offset the costs incurred to rebuild, both the hard costs and the intangibles (his time and effort). Oh, and maybe thank him too.

I joined this site I believe in 2001 right before a heart breaker L to Wyoming when I was a freshman in HS (hopefully my memory is mildly accurate here). No clue how I found it. I grew up with this site, went to Furman and cheered for the Paladins while active on this site when virtually no other students cared (at least 3 that did are members now), and moved far away from Greenville where this site was my only real access to Furman information (besides official website) and Furman fans. I was genuinely bummed when it went down recently. I'm incredibly happy it's back and ready to chat about a men's hoops championship. Every small bit helps. Donated.

The week without access to theUFFP was worse than an NPR "no pledge drive pledge drive".

Stumpy, take my money and deliver me from evil (anygivensaturday.com).

This pinko leftist History major supports the cold, Libertarian efforts of PaulC, at least in this regard.

It must be a socialist site if it only offers 'British English' when registering. Where is that 'Merica English' choice?

Honestly -- happy to see the site back up. Thanks Stumpy for the hard work. I'll throw in a few quid for you.

Appreciate it, everybody! Certainly not expected, but very much appreciated!

I've been looking mostly at the admin panel and the source code of this site for the last few days, trying to figure out how to get some of the old stuff back up. Haven't figured it out yet, but I'll get there. At least the forums appear to work. And, to those of you who donated, that button works, too! I'll thank you personally in a day or two, and then we'll know if the PM function works, too.

I am in.

Stumpy, I do enjoy the site and missed it when it was down.

I still remember my very first post. A simple question, from someone who had not been in touch with Furman sports lately. I was absolutely BLASTED for my ignorance. A very unfriendly introduction. But I kept coming back. And here I am again.

I was relatively new to the site when it went down, but i always appreciated being able to get info on road games etc. As you guys know there aren't many outlets to get info about Furman, so kudos to everyone who participates in helping thia site continue.

About Us

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage

GoPaladins.com is not affiliated with Furman University or its athletics programs.
