Wofford RB Ryan Ingram and Samford OL Cooper Frazier will be in the portal.
Isn’t Ryan Ingram Wofford main RB ?

EDIT. YES he is. Big loss there. Granted, Wofford doesn’t have a Grad program and he was a senior so had to leave. Regardless good for him to be gone. He was the main dude as their RB
I think Ryan Ingram has been Wofford's main running back since the Obama Administration.
Well played.

If I had my druthers I would like an elder transfer
1A. Most at OL or two. Like ETSU Fred at LT
1B. older good corner. maybe 1C. And an athletic older QB?

I think our QB situation will be fine and work itself out.

We could have done a lot for ourselves this year by getting a running game established.

Fred Norman played RT. Furman also brought in two other OL transfers that season, Elliott from Colo. State has been injured, and another guy never really even seemed to show on the roster.

Agreed. The no show was a kid from Newberry I believe.

Based on who the coaches are following so far, it definitely seems like finding an offensive lineman is of high priority for the staff. We'll see if it happens. There is still a long ways to go before the portal opens and closes though, so there will be opportunities throughout the process if we don't see a publicly reported offer from this group of players.

Right after I say that, here is a reported offer from a VMI lineman. Has offers from VT, UTEP, UTC, and WCU to name a few. Assuming VT offer is legit, hard to imagine he'll end up here, but it's the first offer I had seen.

Samford WR Brendan Jenkins will enter the portal. Supposedly led Samford 581 yards and 3 TDs but I didn't look that up.

ETSU LB Ty Anderson also in the portal

The rule for revenue sharing teams is a roster and scholarship limit of 105.

Don’t think there is a scholarship limit as that term has become, essentially, meaningless in the days of NIL.

FUBeAR imagines the upshot of that is Title XI Compliance… “Yes Ma’am, Mrs. Investigator. We are giving 0 Football or Men’s Basketball Scholarships. So, even though we just dropped 6 Women’s Sports, we are in full NCAA / Title IX Compliance. NIL payouts for those 2 Sports? Let’s see. 105 Rostered Football Players and 15 Rostered Men’s Hoopsters. So, $120 million, of course. But that’s all verifiably market-driven. Who wouldn’t want our 4th Team Offensive Guard making a Social Media post about their Car Dealership at $1 million a pop? His follower numbers are INSANE! We did get one of our Women’s Rowing Team a $100 QuickLube Grand Opening appearance spot…before we dropped Women’s Rowing.”

The other thing about opting in to the Profit-Share model is that NIL can be run in-house. So, schools opting in will have control of that revenue stream to the Players. Shouldn’t be able to be ‘held hostage’ quite as easily - as the Head of Hawaii’s NIL Collective was trying to/threatening to do cuz he didn’t like a personnel decision the school made. Not sure what will happen to collectives in the Profit-Sharing model. It would seem they would have outlived their purpose in that model…but they have ‘war chests’ so we’ll see.

BTW - heard from a (usually) knowledgable person that the SoCon is going to opt-in…which is interesting as FUBeAR doesn’t think any SoCon Athletics Dept’s have any profits to share.

ETSU QB Jaylen King is in the portal. That might be the most surprising one out of the SoCon for me so far.
The Star LB - Ty Anderson - that also transferred from G-W to ETSU has portaled hisself also. He had an OK year for the Bucs, but was overshadowed by 3 or 4 other guys on their D, so he’s not, necessarily, taking his 2024 performance into the portal expecting a big money ‘call-up.’

All must not be sunshine and rainbows in JC or Coach Lamb is on the move despite his recent contract extension to ‘28.

King is a little different. He moved to ETSU with the highest expectations and ended the season on the bench. Coach Lamb may have ‘encouraged’ him to portal hisself.

If twitter follows are any indication, Furman appears like they are all over the transfer offensive linemen market.

Our current (as of end of this season) OL breakdown is:

R-Sr: 3
R-Jr: 2
R-So: 2
R-Fr: 3
Fr: 5

Probably unsurprising, but Furman redshirts every offensive linemen. I suppose that's indicative of the premium placed on experience at that position.

Lamb's name has been thrown around with the Charlotte job so it's possible! Kerwin Bell also mentioned there. Saw a twitter rumor yesterday that Bell had turned down an extension from WCU. Certainly sounds like he's looking to move on to somewhere else.

With all the non-P5 type jobs popping open I think we could see significant dominos impacting the FCS ranks.

Long snapper Jacob Hefner is enter the portal. I believe Hefner was a PWO. The last long snapper announced on a signing day was Julian Ashby. I believe Hefner and Riley Smith are both PWO's. Seems like it's going to be Smith's job next year.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
