1.7 mil or so for every game. So now at 3.4. What I read is that the first game $ goes to SoCon for operations. Second game $ spilt among schools with Woffy getting a double share.

To be precise - $1,684,800. That amount is paid out over 6 years, starting next year. The SoCon (and every other D1 conference) gets money from previous tournaments. This year the money is going out for the 2013 ,2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018 tournaments. Next year the 2013 money is replaced by 2019 money. Each conference gets 1 share per game appearance, not wins. Teams that are in the play-in games get the same amount for those games. So a team that advances to the NCAA championship game from a play-in beginning could earn 1 more share than a team seeded right into the round of 64.

The amount paid each year increases. This year it will be $280,800 per game played. That amount will be paid in 2020 through 2025. Last year the amount was $273,200. That will be paid out 2019 through 2024. Each game played in the 2020 tournament will worth $289,000 each for 2021-2026. That increases to $297,100 for 2021 games.

BTW, the money stays with the conference if a team leaves. The MVC will continue to receive the money earned by Wichita State and Creighton appearances for a few years.
