UNCG has had an odd year. Their record is terrific overall, they lost by only 6 at LSU, they went toe-to-toe at Kentucky until the 8:20 mark of the second half then collapsed but... they were whipped twice by Wofford and struggled to wins against Elon, VMI, and both times against Western Carolina. I think their outside shooting is probably a big part of it. They have been very inconsistent.
All of the SoCon games tonight were dramatically different first half/second half affairs. UNCG was cruising with an eight point lead at the half but gave up 47 points to WCU in the second half and had to go to OT. ETSU and VMI were tied at VMI before ETSU scored 55 in the second half for a 24 point win. Mercer was up 18 at halftime but Samford rallied and Mercer escaped with a 3 point win. Chattanooga was leading by 10 at the Citadel but had to hang on for a 68-65 win.
