These two articles are absolutely infuriating. I would say the committee has been exposed and it is time for changes. Need more transparency, standard objective criteria and less subjectivity!!!

There's a lack of transparency in the process.
True but it is a whole lot worse than I imagined.

Considering how much a team will pay to host a game should not be part of whether a team should get in the playoffs or not (Montana). Getting in the playoffs should be based on on-the-field performance.

Giving a home game to the lower of two bids-that is contradictory to what most of us have thought for years (Weber State).

TIME FOR CHANGES!

So glad these articles are written and published. They need to be disseminated widely. Thanks to those here who are doing that! Keep it up! As the first article said, FCS may mean very little to FBS people, but FCS means the world to the FCS schools, players, staffs, and fans involved. Many millions of dollars are involved from the schools, many thousands of dollars from the fans, and enormous time-energy-effort-life from the many, many players. It is unacceptable for the system to be so screwed up. We need to be “up in arms”!

YES…and…even these articles are biased toward only discussing Big Sky & MVFC problems. They don’t even touch on the committee’s stupidity with having Furman & Elon matched up in Round 1, with Samford not a Top 4 seed…and with Furman not seeded.

Or on the bias of Seeding 1 thru 4 as MVFC, BSC, MVFC, BSC ensuring those Teams from those Conferences have home games thru the Semi’s (if they don’t lose…which bye weeks and home games sure help them not do) and that they are on opposite sides of the bracket. Putting Samford in the Top 4 would have put a wrinkle in the biased symmetry.

The whole thing is a shell game and needs to be blown the f up. Or…in nicer, more popular terms … reimagined

"Not only are the explanations of how seeds are assigned, bids awarded, teams selected and matchups paired for the field rather scattershot, but it gets more strange: seeded teams are not necessarily guaranteed to host their second-round games. Teams send bids to the NCAA for hosting those games, too.

The same criteria are used to choose who hosts in the second round and, as Truax told Montana State beat writer Victor Flores of 406mtsports.com, “the committee tries to reward the seeded team with the opportunity to host.

This is news to me. I've been under the impression that seeded teams are awarded both a bye AND a 2nd round home game ever since the field was expanded to 24. With UIW's paltry facilities and attendance you'd think we'd have a home game this Saturday.

Both of those articles need to be posted on AGS. I'm too tech-challenged to do it myself.
They've been posted.
