good article..

TO something Jackal was noting and wondering of Hope: "Adrian had a great year as a pass rusher, but we've challenged him to become more of an every down player. " Good thought by Jackal as to whether they were going to leave Hope as a pass-rush only guy or an every down guy.
Adrian very much wants to be an every down player and is working very hard on his run stop techniques. However, it looks to me like the staff wants this position to be rotational by circumstance. We have three really good athletes at this spot in Adrian, Devonta Porter and Dillon Vann and that gives us the opportunity to have a fresh body in that spot at all times. Adrian has a unique ability to find the football quickly and get to it. That is a combination of intelligence and exceptional athleticism. It is a lethal weapon that we don't want to lose or wear down. He is in great shape and is trying to bulk up some for the run but he is young and that might take some time. CCH seems very aware of the talent he has at that position and I am sure will use it to the best extent.

Don't sleep on Vann - when Vann played Bandit in 2017 he made an impact. His length puts him in the position to swat balls, intercept passes, etc…

Spur is really interesting - Furman is a legit three-deep. I hear nothing but raves about Wilkins and Miller IMO was an underrated pickup from one of the best HS programs in the state. IMO, when he came back from injury late in the season he was key to Brynes run into the playoffs.

Spur is a very complex position in our defensive scheme with lots of important "reads". Both Wilkins and Miller have a lot of promise but Jordan Willis is "the man" at that spot. He is a very heady and athletic player who is one of the real leaders on defense. Interesting guy to watch as the play is developing if you want to see where the ball is going.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
