Where did Coleman end up? Can't remember.
He probably got tired of older former players thinking his dad's name was Mike.

I think that Coleman situation was all about Daddy and not the kid at all. Did he start or play much for Richmond?

sluggo is joking - inside joke for old guys

As an FCS to FCS Transfer, Mr. Coleman had to sit out/redshirt in 2017, if I'm not mistaken.

I got the joke and believe me only dirt is older than me. ;) I just seem to remember hearing that Coleman's father was the one who felt the boy would be better off in a pro style offense in college rather than what he perceived would be our "service academy" style of run option. The joke is on dad as CCH and now the soon to emulated champion Philadelphia Eagles ran a pass read option with great success along with 3 yards and a cloud of dust. There's a lesson in there somewhere for "stage fathers" if that was the case. I had lunch with the kid one day in the Student Dining room right before he left. Very nice, polite boy. Good Furman fit. Too bad.

Quick look at the 2018 roster and Joe Farrar not listed. Also some position changes in the D-line, O-line, and defensive backfield.

Did he graduate early? Certainly never blame someone for that, but usually you don't see starters do it. Losing two of the top four tacklers when neither were seniors isn't ideal.

I mean, Farrar was a redshirt junior, so he may have just decided to graduate. I cannot fault the man for that decision.

From an on-the-field perspective, we should be alright. Furman has a very similar type of player in Jordan Willis that should step right in.

Puzzling thing is a tweet from February noting his last spring practice indicates he at least then was coming back.

My sources confirmed that Farrar is no longer on the team.

About Us

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
