2025 SoCon Basketball Tournament
Hard fought first game. Mercer held a small lead a majority of the game but WCU stayed close enough, and finally took a lead in the last few minutes but missed key FTs to give Mercer a chance to win the last few seconds. Neither shot well, except for Mercer's FT%. Mercer only hit 10% of their three point shots and less than 40% overall but WCU wasn't much better and missed 7 of their 17 FT attempts including key late misses after they took the lead.
In the second game both teams started slowly before VMI began to score and built a comfortable lead. FT shooting was bad for both teams. First game nerves?
The refs were "letting them play" and the physicality allowed was substantial. If this is how the tournament is going to be called the Paladins better be ready for it. A lot of bumping and pushing..

I can't see them doing better. I doubt people are lining up for that job.

UNCG upset by VMI. I don't know why they bothered to send refs out for that one. UNCG got away with ar least 2 flagrants. No blood no foul.
VMI knocks off uncg. Exactly why I was hoping we would get uncg in the first game. Just have not been impressed with uncg all year. They pulled a Furman today, scored 108 their last game and barely 50 today.
Can only only hope VMI makes it to finals vs Dins
