Not sure what you are suggesting. I think CBR is a great coach who will eventually bring a Socon tourney championship and a trip to the dance. If he leaves, there is no reason to think the program would turn into a dumpster fire... Medved left and BR kept it going. The culture is there. I imagine whoever is next will keep the culture and JD will expect success almost immediately.
Coaching carousel has started...
Several coaching positions have already been filled. According to espn Charleston is currently concentrating on current sitting head coaches and will begin interviewing next week. Not good.
I might be way off here, but I think CBR is staying at FU for now...His PG is coming back and a great class signed...Noah and Bothwell back...I think it would take a power five job to override all that...Again, I could be wrong...CofC wouldn't be hiring CBR long term...As successful as he's been, why stay?... So then why would CofC make a short term hire knowing that...Joel Justus is who I think will get the job.
Reports out that Col. of Charleston will hire Winthrop coach Pat Kelsey for twice what he was getting in Rock Hill.
Kesley made 247k at Winthrop. C of C was paying Grant 650k.
I guess CofC is about twice as big, but they are too broke to be paying that much.
Bet everyone here would have bet Kelsey was making more than CBR. Obviously not the case.
What real knowledge or evidence do you have about CofC being “broke”? I have observed no such information.
