Wonder if there will ever be a chance for Greenville to host the SoCon tournament again, I personally would like to see that happen
I agree. I really think it would get supported here better. No one from Asheville actually attends. It is a more central location also. Greenville metro poulation is 3 times that of Asheville. Grenville County is more than double the population of Buncombe County. Not to mention better weather. Just seems to reasom more people would attend. For some reason the SoCon is in love with Asheville so I don't see it moving anytime soon. In fact didnt they just sign an agreement to keep it there for many more years?

Word came to the Roundball Club today that the official attendance for the Winthrop game was 3,700.
I wonder if that was tickets are actual peeps. I know there were a lot of season ticket no shows.

What would be the purpose of reporting 2,752 then? To save on tax dollars?

Its an older dated venue in Asheville so I am sure the SoCon gets it for pretty cheap that weekend

Many fans who were invited to a VIP reception were not scanned as they entered, as well as many students.

I think I just did.
Not at all
Obviously I meant on the official attendance figure announced for the game, it would raise our season attendance average and would have looked even better perception wise to the general public that we drew a larger crowd.

Attendance has now been updated on the Furman website to show 3,740
https://furmanpaladins.com/sports/mens- ... score/6280

ESPN still has the initial figure of 2,752, but maybe we don't have the power to go back and correct that figure as well
https://www.espn.com/mens-college-baske ... =401171554

At any rate, the new figure of 3,740 looks good and should provide a nice boost to our season average

About Us

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage

GoPaladins.com is not affiliated with Furman University or its athletics programs.
