UTC wraps up first place with a 75-63 win. Samford at UNCG Saturday for second place. Would rather play uncg than Samford if we wind up 6th despite thr fact we beat SU twice and lost to uncg twice. Only a few hundred in attendance in G’boro.

No way. We seem to matchup well vs Samford but UNCG has our number.

You might have a point. Let’s just win Saturday and play ETSU. We should have beat them twice.

Attendance in G’boro was reported as 1,288, probably half that really. I think uncg has it worse than Furman. We have CU close by but they Duke, UNC, NC State and Wake all close by. No wonder they get no support.

Don't want to play Bucky ball early in that tourney. Let Samford tire themselves out.

Problem with Bucky ball is the refs don't call half of all the fouls they commit. If they did, we'd be in the bonus in the first five minutes.

Interesting that five picked the fourth or fifth place finishers. That was as many as picked the first, second, or third placed teams combined. Nobody picked second place UNCG.

Repeated in some other conferences. Five picked third place Charleston to win the CAA. Three picked second place UNCW and only two chose CAA champ Towson. In the Patriot league there was a first place tie between Bucknell and American U. but seven made Bucknell their favorite and only two picked American. In the WCC St.Marys easily won first place over second place Gonzaga but half of the picks were for SMC and half for Gonzaga.

About Us

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
