Correct, if they had called all the fouls on SU we would still be at the Well.greenvegas wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 8:42 pmBucky Ball strategy is to foul all the time so that the refs can't call every foul that Samford commits so they "let 'em play". The result is Samford gets away with a ton of fouls more that the opposition.
Glad to hear from you furpop. I was getting close to sending you a note and ask if you were able to dodge the CA fires.
That is what they used to describe as Bobby Knight's style at Indiana. His teams would be committing fouls constantly. After awhile the refs start to think that is just "playing hard." Also the refs don't like games where they are calling twice as many fouls on one team as the other. Most refs don't like any accusation of favoritism. The solution is to stop calling a lot of the fouls. That favors the team that prefers that style. It lead to some overly rough games until the NCAA told the refs they had to call the fouls. It also lead to Indiana stopping winning titles.greenvegas wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 8:42 pmBucky Ball strategy is to foul all the time so that the refs can't call every foul that Samford commits so they "let 'em play". At Wofford. VMI is the biggest surprise so far in the SoCon's first half.
