Originally listed as a PWO, but wondering if maybe didn't move up the list with the loss of the WR in recruiting class.

FUATT (I think) mentioned it before signing day but I missed the official announcement. Edwin Gaulding committed on signing day. He reports an offer but wasn’t announced so might be a PWO? Big kid.

He is a PWO. My daughter went to elementary school with him. He was big when he was little.

Worth trying to develop him. No question. Heck even if he can’t move it’s a long way around him…

No it wasn't. Not sure where you got that from, but that wasn't even Gavin Hall's only 20+ yard run in that game.

Ok I stand corrected, GH had 2 both against VMI.

2 things here..

1 - I saw a clip of the state championship game where the announcers said Brady was "committed for now to Furman" as if there was some wiggle in his commitment after speaking with the coaches.
2 - I saw this post from On3 which is based in Nashville and likely some insights to the high school programs there. This post was really pumping Brady.

If we get him, it could be a big win. However, I'm concerned about the 1000% committed these high school guys have these days. With all of those variables and the year we had, I'd give it about a 30% chance we keep him.

There are some rules on this, but he's already signed with Furman.

It may be as simple as a broadcaster not knowing he'd already signed, not just committed.

The NLI is binding and he would be ineligible to play this year and also lose a year of eligibility. One of the few rules remaining in the Wild West of recruiting.

Once he has signed. Teams are not supposed to be able to contact him which makes it less likely he won’t be at Furman. Still could happen but less likely.

Smith has been one of the couple of guys I’ve been most excited about in the class. Stewart was the other one but he’s going to be in Macon now.

Furman had 2 commits that won state championships in TN that week. Smith/CPA and also Caleb Ellison at Oakland won the 6A title I believe.

Not so fast my friend:

The NCAA Division I Council has approved the immediate elimination of the national letter of intent program, the NCAA announced Wednesday, marking a historic shift to the recruiting landscape.

Established in 1964, the NLI program has existed as the formal, binding agreement between prospective athletes and college programs for the past 60 years. The NLI will be replaced by a new financial aid agreement that will provide many of the same core functions as the NLI and will likely be tied to a contract related to an impending revenue-sharing model across college athletics.

https://www.espn.com/college-sports/sto ... nt-program

Now, once you sign the financial aid agreement, supposedly other schools are prohibited from engaging in recruiting communications with the player. But still... The West is even more Wild now than it was before... you have literally got to recruit a player 24/7 for all four years at this point.

Guys like Smith... if someone like Vandy or Wake comes along and offers him a spot and a revenue share.... that's hard. They are not supposed to do that. But... I don't know.

Not sure if he is a PWO or not. His twitter doesn’t show a Furman offer. He does report offers from Harvard, Brown, Dartmouth, Mercyhurst, Butler, and Colgate. 6’1” 230+ LB from The Bolles School in Florida.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
