It hasn’t happened a ton, but I agree with apaladin. After last year, OL and DB needed something. Competition should make us better at both spots whether the new guys win the starting job or drive the existing guys to improve and play better than they did this year. With that said, Brasher has started more games than those guys, so I hope he (and the rest of the guys) have the confidence to feel like they’re still going to go win that job. If they don’t feel that way, maybe they shouldn’t be starting anyways. That feels abnormally harsh for me to say but we can’t have another season like last year.
I know it’s not the traditional Furman way, but the game has changed. Furman is still going to lean heavily on development, but I don’t think they could just go into next year without changing anything and expect the amount of improvement we would have needed to be competitive for the conference again.
