Portal closes 1 week from tomorrow. Has anyone seen anything definitive on OL additions? I saw at least one that we seemed to be following that committed elsewhere.

Players can still transfer pretty much indefinitely after portal opens and closes. I imagine they'll want to be at a new school prior to spring practice, though.

Looks like Hinton picked up an offer from Eastern Michigan. Twitter says he officially visited WMU this week and Coastal today.

It's 19 degrees tomorrow in Michigan, so maybe that works in Furman's favor.

I had neglected to notice, but some of what feels like a more public involvement in the transfer portal comes with changes starting this year.

- the NLI window for high school players is earlier. That should create pressure for the high school kids to go ahead and sign, knowing the transfer portal window opens immediately after.

The NLI (national letter of intent)is no longer valid. It was elminated by the NCAA in the fall of this year.

Best I can tell based on twitter/x snooping, Furman has 23 offers out currently. Certainly some of these have come because we're probably out of it with a few of the earlier offers, but just posting the numbers so everyone can see where we are.

Not necessarily. I don’t think any of these guys have to decide until fall semester enrollment technically. Once in the portal, they can decide whenever they want (as long as they are in good academic standing and enrolled before the fall semester). At least that’s my understanding.

Now we all hope some of these guys will decide in time to be here for spring semester/practice, but I don’t think they have to technically. I could be wrong though.

No inside info on any OL so far. Portal visits/decisions are usually not as publicized on social media because the schedules are kind of hectic for a lot of these guys.
