Furman waited 43 flippin years to see our glorious men's basketball program hang a banner. Go to the basketball site to spew your garbage. Wait, there isn't a basketball site. CCH and Furman football will recover and hang banners! We won't have to wait to party in 2066 like basketball.
FU Basketball - I am going to defend it

I only need one line...

Bob Richey made FU Basketball Great Again!
OK - but as a Furman Fan, that just doesn’t help FUBeAR, in any way, process a full generation of awful to mediocre, on rare occasions, Furman Basketball results.

If one anomalously poor season of Furman Football, following a season of a being an eyelash (& 9 egregious non-calls) away from playing & likely winning a home Semifinal game vs. NDSU, and a 4th trip to an NCAA Division 1 National Championship game, sends you into such a spiral of repetitive doomsday posting about Furman Football, how in Coach Sheridan’s name were you unable to refrain from unaliving yourself while wandering in the dark desert that was Furman Basketball for so many consecutive seasons?

You said you were here to “defend Furman Basketball.” You haven’t addressed those 23 consecutive seasons of almost exclusively FAIL even a little bit.

Since you can’t seem to do what you said you were here to do, maybe it will be helpful for some of us to cope with this single completely atypical Furman Football season, if you would just share the actions you took during that nearly interminable stretch of misery that Furman Basketball must have brought to you. How were you possibly able to keep going and keep the faith during those 8,395 days of an abject paucity of success?

The fact you would like to ignore the past 10 years of Basketball success in this discussion proves you have an agenda...

Have you been asleep since 2005?
Furman football is right about .500 over the past 20 years...

I enjoyed watching some good Football at FU in 2022 and 2023, maybe don't give me such a hard time just because I posted a dumpster on fire this season when by all accounts/results that is what this season has been...

I swear that account for the most part only shows up to respond to me and try to trash the Basketball program!

You are the one trashing the football program with a rare off season. FUBeAR is dead on!
Actually he is dead off...

There is a big difference in trashing one Football season with a GIF (where we are about the worst in FCS) and trashing the entire Basketball program...

No way!
Joe Williams was great, but no way!

Both have won an NCAA tourney game here...
Bob Richey has beaten 2 Top 15 ranked teams...
Bob Richey now has more wins and a higher winning percentage...
Bob Richey STAYED with us!

He is the GOAT :D

Furman Football Record 2010-2024 (15 years)

85-85
ya'll know I like them maths - and since we just passed Halloween - "I like them Monster Maths"... lol

I have no dog in this fight. Just wish the best for next year etc. Maybe we can win one here at the end...

But I would Not have guessed 85-85 in our last 170 games. I get it though... Fowler etc (GREAT man, just didn't work out). I don't know CCH total record off the top of my head but I know it is a winning record as he has 40 wins and 20 losses in the SoCon contests.

Not gonna take the time to look at overall record. Plus overall is skewed with the FBS Ole Miss and Clemson etc. Not a fair fight. One given loss per year...

Fortunately with a more level playing field than football has (only 5 players on the court at a time lol), we can still compete with the Power schools in Hoops!

So…NO defense for 23 seasons of SUCK, then? Got it. Didn’t think you would.

Maybe don’t give Furman Football “such a hard time” for a single rough season, when the sport that you worship, and you, stupidly, think is harmed in some way by Furman Football, was, recently, the @$$-end of a dying sow for over 2 decades.

Of course FUBeAR has an “agenda.” Multi-faceted.

1) Expose your stupid agenda for the juvenile exercise that it is.
2) Demonstrate to all readers that you are utterly incapable of backing up your blithering, bile-filled bs about Furman Football that provides less than zero value to anyone, and, potentially, is harmful; which you well-know, as that is clearly a primary pillar of your nonsensical agenda.
3) Entertain some readers - maybe not all, but definitely some. FUBeAR has a FanFollowing.
4) As always, first & foremost, entertain FUBeAR.

CHECK, CHECK, CHECK, and CHECK-a-roo.

Done with wasting time and pixels on you and your inanity.

About Us

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage

GoPaladins.com is not affiliated with Furman University or its athletics programs.
