This is hard to believe but here is what the offense has done the last 3 games in the first half:
CITADEL
1st quarter- 0 points 26 yards
2nd quarter- 0 points -2 yards
Half total: 0 points 24 yards
CHATTANOOGA
1st quarter- 3 points 58 yards
2nd quarter- 0 points 26 yards
Half total: 3 points 84 yards
WESTERN CAROLINA
1st quarter- 0 points 19 yards
2nd quarter- 0 points 32 yards

You're torturing the stats to find bad news. So we've had some slow starts. And yes, we've lost a game or two. Just a couple or so, maybe a few more. But look: We've won two, and that's something to build upon. As my ultra-violent little brother (fullback for ETSU) said after a loss: "Football isn't about winning or losing; its about making friends". Then we got loaded and accidentally killed a neighbor's goat, a pointless mishap that seemed to make all the difference. It only cost us $45 to buy that goat, and as a bonus we now had a goat carcass. It took less than a day for that dead goat to start stinking real bad so we chucked onto the roof his apartment in Johnson City. If you're upset after a loss, I advise you to follow those simple steps and you'll feel a lot better.

The way I read those stats is DESPITE having a slow start against The Citadel the Paladins found a way to achieve victory. Now that's some pretty great news.

FU Tex, I am disappointed that you did not Bar-B-Que that goat??? BBQ goat is quite popular in some parts of the world.

I was thinking getting behind was our EVIL PLAN ! After witnessing Citadel I thought we had UTC and Western riiiight where we wanted them. Apparently, they had conjured up some pre-Halloween evil which kept us from manifesting our comeback...

But the first halves were beautiful and exactly what we wanted !

About Us

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage

GoPaladins.com is not affiliated with Furman University or its athletics programs.
