Quite a battle. Lots of ugly but we are up 1 with 3:36 to go. Maybe it’s just me, but our defense has been pretty solid. Had some awful offensive possessions in 2d half. But are right there

We played the worst defense of the night in the last minute. A waltz to the basket for a dunk and leave them wide open for a 3. Terrible finish the last minute. Like a I said this was a missed golden opportunity to get the W. Paladins fall all the way to 5th place a game behind Chattanooga now. WC in the drivers seat. Basically up 2 games on UNCG, 3 on ETSU and 4 on FU. Paladins now 3-4 the last 7 games.

The bad news? We lost a game we should have won, our young guys were terrible, and we got out coached.

The good news? We played good D and the toughest part of the schedule is behind us and we could possibly (but not likely) run the table.

Good point but it just goes to show you that you can play all the defense in the world and be great at it but you still have to score. If you take away the 2 seniors the rest of the team was 8-37. 21 percent. The breakdowns on defense the last minute of course costs us the game. After we took the lead with a minute left it took them 6 seconds to tie on a gimme. Would have love to have made them make a shot in that situation. The last 2 points was total bush league. With our short rotation we can't afford to have starters going scoreless. May be time to shake things up a little. How many 3's did we shoot tonight that never had a chance of going in?

That one hurt. To play so well defensively for 38 minutes then lose with two bad defensive plays is hard to accept. By the way, no way we were out coached. It was a well coached, tough defensive game. Congrats to Wofford for pulling it out at the end.

Won’t win many games when Lyons is 1 for 9 on 3’s and 4 for 14 overall. Need more than ten points from him.

Gurley was 2 for 8 and played like a freshman.

Mounce oh my gosh 0 for 8 and zero points. Cold as ice and yet he shot the 3 at the end? Hate his game-to-game inconsistency.

Alex Hunter barely showed up on offense.

Brown did pretty well with 10 but missed front end of 1 and 1 and missed a wide open 3 in the last 5 minutes.

This game was there for the taking but like the Tenn game last year, nobody stepped up.

To sum up the team, we are inconsistent.

Rafferty is special (this is a recording) and so is Magee (only Wofford player to score double digits). Will be interesting to see who will be the player of the year.

Complete TRASH 3 pointer by Wofford at end of first half turned out to be huge.

Yes that one at the end of the first half hurt. To play such a great defensive game and a breakdown in the last 5 seconds of the first half and 2 breakdowns in the last minute hurt. Of course we had so many opportunities to get a lead but kept throwing up bricks. Then we come out in the second half and have 4 points in 8 plus minutes and were still only down 3.
If we had a couple of other players as consistent as MR we would be hard to beat.

I think the last shot of the first half was more of a trash shot and a brick than a defensive breakdown. They also scored the last 7 points of the game. That 10 points is huge in such a low scoring game. And what happened with Rafferty in the last two minutes when he lost the ball out of bounds? Could have EASILY won this.

It was a piss shot, banked in 3 pointer but he was still wide open. I think this points out our problem: Rafferty and Brown played 69 minutes and scored 33 points. The rest of the team played 131 minutes and scored 21 points.

Good defense that gave us a shot, could have won but to many bricks though, its a make or miss sport, hard to win when you miss so much

Hopefully we will find the touch again in Timmons this week

Well-coached teams are good in situations. That's part of every practice: situations. We gave up a lay-up line dunk to let Wofford tie and then an open three pointer to let them take the lead in the final minute. On the offensive end, we get the ball with 17 seconds, down three, and can only get a desperation long three. Even the attempted Hail Mary looked like something the team either hadn't either practiced or, more likely, hadn't practiced enough.

I still like this team, like our coach, and our chances at Timmons. Hopefully, the team uses the lessons from this game, builds on them and is peaking in March.
