VPI announced today they have added FCS Rhode Island to their schedule next year. The game is scheduled for Oct. 12th. They will play 2 FCS teams now. Anyone heard anything on a possible 12th game for the 'dins? Need to know asap as it's less than 8 month until KO.

I don't think that article is correct. We play Mercer on the 21st.

According to the updated site, we play VT on the 14th. https://hokiesports.com/sports/2018/6/6 ... dules.aspx

The site also appears to allow for VT opening against an ACC opponent on the 31st.

Yes. That was the reason I posted the Hokies press release.

I noticed that Virginia Tech's original news release yesterday had the Furman game listed as Sept. 21 on the graphic. They have since changed (corrected, I assume) the graphic to put the Furman game on Sept. 14. Hopefully their play calling that day will be as error-prone as their graphic-making.

I am going to hold off on listing the Ga. State game until I see something more official from another source. FBS schedules is a good website, but they also had Furman/VT on August 31. So, it isn't gospel.

That said, I believe Ga State will be September 7 - I just will wait to see if I can find that information from a source other than that website.

Please be home FCS game! I would think 8-4 is the minimum needed next year to get in the playoffs. Although one team might sneak in at 7-5.
