Another guy we wanted out of HS is on the move - Joshua Beadle, 6'3" soph. at Clemson, is in the portal. Just announced a couple of hours ago. When he was in HS he narrowed his final choices to the Tigers and the Paladins. Beadle averaged about 3 ppg in 11 minutes this year. He hit about 47% of his shots this year but only hit 14% of his threes, which is probably why he didn't play more. He was only playing about 2 minutes per game in Clemson's ACC and NCAA tournament games which may be what prompted his transfer.

Some other players we were after once are also moving on.

Connor Hickman, 6'3" soph. guard at Bradley is transferring. Doubt he is looking our way. Hickman was the leading scorer for Bradley - around 15 ppg and hit over 40 % of his threes. My guess is that the Indiana native is looking to move to the Big 10.

Four players we tried to recruit are leaving Davidson. All four signed originally with other schools then transferred to the Wildcats. Angelo Brizzi, 6'3" soph. point guard, originally signed with Villanova but did not play much and left for Davidson. He played about 19 mpg and averaged about 6 ppg. this year but wasn't a regular starter. Good athlete, good passer, poor % shooting. David Skogman, 6'10" senior, who was one of the top two scorers for the Wildcats this year, originally signed with Buffalo out of the MAC. He averaged 13 ppg and hit 47% of his threes and added 5 rpg. He had injury problems this year and missed about half of their games. Skogman also had health issues in HS too. Connor Kochera, 6'5" senior, also averaged about 13 ppg. He began his career at William and Mary and was an immediate star but left for the Wildcats after two years. Jarvis Moss, 6'5" guard, started his career at Stanford but played little there and transferred to Davidson. He didn't play play much this season. He think he was injured a lot.

ya know what this says? It takes 3-5 years to develop as a BBall player. Those who get in a hurry and transfer or get upset everytime something doesnt work out may be short sited.

Dunno, looks like he did pretty well his first, second and third years at Winthrop.

Where is any conveniently accessible place where you find info about who has entered the transfer portal, where they are and previously were, and the outcomes when known?
And where do you find total numbers who are in the portal as well as numbers of how many actually did and did not transfer?

Richey says we got a guard commit (shooter) that he is excited about...

And we are close on a front court player that can immediately help as well....

Also sounds like PJ Smith will be playing more point guard with the ball in his hands more this year...

Another guy we tried to sign when he was a HS player - Mason Madsen, 6'4" 200 guard, is on the move. Madsen was at Cincinnati for two years before going to Boston College the last two. He was a solid player at both schools and averaged 8 ppg this year. Not sure why is is transferring. Maybe he wants to join a team with a high chance at the NCAA tournament. Another possibility is that he wants to be one of the top guys on the team. He was 5th leading scorer at BC.
Good shooter - hit 37% of his threes this season but the number that really pops is his almost 98% FT shooting.

Alex Williams tweeted this about an hour ago. Wondering, is this a promo video or could it be that he has decided to stay to play in that Furman uniform?

Not going to get my hopes up... but he'd be a force in the SoCon if he stayed

Jelani Hamilton is a 6'6" 200 wing from Austell, GA. He had several offers from ACC and SEC schools but picked Iowa State. He redshirted this season and should have 4 years of eligibility left.

Another transfer of note is Tom House, 6'6 200 wing from Dayton, OH who is leaving Florida State after two years of mostly sitting on the bench. He is a player the Paladins were after in HS. He had mostly mid-major offers until Georgia and FSU came in with offers late in the recruiting process. House got limited PT at Florida State but hit almost 50% of his threes this season (8-17.) Three point shooting was what he was known for in HS.

Good call....

Seems like Tom House might be deciding between Furman, Belmont and Liberty....

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
