Current remaining scholarship players on roster for SoCon schools, per Verbal Commits
Chatt: 5
ETSU: 9
Furman: 8
Mercer: 3
Samford: 5
The Citadel: 4
UNCG: 7
VMI: 6
WCU: 2
Wofford: 10
My thoughts: Furman still has a stable roster comparative to some other schools (Chatt, WCU, even Samford) but there is still work to be done. If we can get some transfers (play-making guard, big man with paint presence) that work really well within our system and with each other, I think we will be fine in the SoCon. However, other SoCon schools will be looking to do the exact same thing, but I think it's easier to replace one or two big spots as opposed to seven (like WCU). Sure, we've yet to see Bronson or Humphries play, but I've heard glowing reports about them both. I can't wait to see how PJay Smith plays in his second season in D1, either. There's still work to be done, but when all is said and finished, I think we will be okay for next season.
