At 1AM this morning(Thursday) it is 41 degrees in Missoula and 34 in Greenville. Go figure. Friday high in Missoula is 36, its reversed in Greenville 63. Gametime temp 32.
I don’t know what today’s schedule is like for the team. I realize they are students and probably have class today. I think I even heard CCH saying the presser they have finals this week? BUT since it was in the 20s this morning in Greenville I’m curious if they were tempted to get a morning walk through in today to experience throwing/catching/kicking that cold ball.
Not a bad idea - it would just be a refresher though - they're out there in Jan/Feb going full tilt in 20 degree weather all "Spring" practice.

FUBeAR ain't worried about anything 20 and above. Colder / Snowier / Sleetier / Frozen Rainier is a different story.
No worries, the team practiced last evening in the snow. Gman "borrowed" Cataloochee ski mtn. snow guns. Paladin stadium was covered in snow! Swan Lake is now drained. All good!

What's a good place on Thursday night?

What's a good place for breakfast and lunch on Friday?

Where to park? I have read it's best to walk, but from where?

As mentioned before any brewery is solid, Press Box is a local Griz sport bar close to the University. The Double Tree on the river across from UM has a nice restaurant overlooking the Clark Fork river with diverse menu from a raw oysters, steak, and firebrick Pizza (My personal favorite happy hour and appetizer spot), The Depot is great, a drive to Lolo Steak House in a large log cabin and a distillery behind with side by side driver to take you to the distillery while you wait for your table (smoked salmon and Brie is my favorite starter and the distillery always has a great specialty drink), Montana Club has two locations and always solid.

For breakfast Paul’s pancakes or get up early skip a walk and give your eyes a work out. Drive north on HWY 93 the first 5 miles is to the top of Evaro hill and then you go past the Lone Wolf casino after entering the Flathead Indian Reservation the massive tunnel north of the casino is a passage area for Grizzly migration or passage above the HWY the next area is a little town of Arlee as the valley opens up and then as you are heading north the HWY narrows to a small river run through a tight ravine to the base of Ravalli hill as you go up the hill the national Bison range is to the west, take a break at the top of Ravalli hill at the parking area. Now you see the Mission Mountain Range (google it) you are at the south end of the Mission valley this isn’t the time of year to drive the Bison range so soak up the views and then head north the next little town you drive through is St Ignatius and as the HWY turns as you pass St Ignatius you get a full view of the beautiful upland bird range and then there is another grade up a few miles north that leads to Nine Pipes it will be a marshy area and a shallow lake area where migratory ducks and geese are year round and you may be lucky and see wild swans in one of the pot hole ponds north of Nine Pipes is Ronan and go eat at the Amish Cafe that is owned and run by local Amish do not get too many extra home made cinnamon rolls or pies because there is a secret spot to get the best doughnut ever after you have breakfast. Go north again to Pablo as you go through the Bull Pine area in Pablo the terrain turns to beautiful farmland and there is an overlook before going down the hill into Polson, pull in enjoy the view of Flathead lake if the winter lake effect isn’t in full force. Go into Polson and before getting to the bridge park on Main Street and go to Polson Bakery and get some of the best doughnuts (they only really make two types: glazed and their unique specialty known by all the locals I will let you enjoy this without a preview) take a walk around the main street area if a walk is what you want or down to the lake front area and dock area. Ronan is about 45 miles away from Missoula and it is worth a morning to experience the Missions and the Flathead valley. Doughnut at Polson Bakery is the reward.

Dozzer....

We're gonna assume "Dozzer" isn't Montanan for "Drunkard"....and we're gonna assume, based on the near-lucidity of most of your comments, that you do know and are capable of using the alphabet.

So ... just to assist any future posts you might make here....

1) Montana played "UD," a common abbreviation for the University of Delaware, last week

2) Montana is playing "FU," a common abbreviation for Furman University, among other things, this week

Hope that is helpful for you.
Sorry about that. I am old and the Dozzer may be more like Mr. Bean and sleep while typing. I was trying to avoid it, but you asked for it…if you want FU then FU. LOL I must have had Delaware on the mind. At least you got the gest. Thanks for calling me out it was well desreved.

As per parking: Take East Beckwith Ave to the base of the mountain on the campus where the M is. Many spots that are free to park along east Beckwith Ave last week. Tailgating will be going on by or before 3:00. Get to campus early and there are also paid parking lots and a map on Gogriz site. The UC Center is a good spot to visit and has public restrooms as well as the parking lot at the base of the M.

Most Montana fans are willing to share at their tailgates and enjoy visiting visiting team fans. The Saturday games are always better and more tailgating.

I've really enjoyed all these posts from the Montana fans. They are a class act and know their football, too. They've got me wanting to visit Montana so bad I can't stand it. Maybe next summer. I've been to Arizona and The Grand Canyon and loved it. The vastness of the western states amaze me.

Back to football.

Need our receivers to step up in this game. Watching that UTC game breakdown on another thread reminded me that we missed on some big pass plays that were tough catches but catchable balls.

I sure wish I could've gone. I loved Missoula. When I went fishing and saw Pearl Jam in the Montana stadium a few years ago, I came home and looked to see if the Missoula fire department was hiring. Hopefully, Jason is working on a home and home regular season matchup?!

Last night was amazing, spectacular and awesome.

My friends group took us to the Lolo steak house. What an amazing place the log cabin the wood fired grill inside the building you can actually watch your steak being cooked. The food was really good, people were so friendly. Had some drinks there then ended up at another log cabin in the middle of the national forest called the Lumberjack. Not a lot of people but we closed it down. The memorabilia in that place was unlike anywhere I have ever seen. Old chainsaws, stools at the bar were carved out of huge trees. I wish I could post pictures on here, the whole night was bewildering.

Just finished up breakfast at Pauls Pancake Parlor a local place that has pretty good food. I am getting the royal treatment here and cannot thank these Montana fans and friends for all they are doing in such a short stay for me.

If one of my friends buddys can get off work this afternoon we are going to hit the river in his drift boat and try some fishing. I have a few Moose drools to drink along the way. This town reminds me so much of Boone NC, its got a college feels to it and endless outdoor activities. They wanted to take me ice fishing but are not sure the lakes they usually go to are frozen over yet. Weather is very accommodating it was 42 degrees when I got up this morning.

Not sure that's a good plan - Apparently, Montana is known for signing Home/Home deals getting your fans fired about a fun competitive home game and then cancelling/buying out them having to come to your place. They did it to WCU recently. Would only do that deal with a buyout that they wouldn't be willing to accept.

Wow so they bought out the 2025 game that would be at WCU and still don't even have an FBS game scheduled in 2025 anyways? LOL!

Reading all the pregame predictions, analysis and previews, this game should be over by the end of the first quarter as Montana is great in every aspect of football. They are just unbeatable, superstars at every position with superstar backups too. They should be in the FBS playoffs not the FCS.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
