This is a different APSU coaching staff (head coach) than the staff we played in the playoffs.
I'll also add that Furman's team was less athletic than this year's.
The FU/Chatty game was a very physical game, and I expect the APSU/Chatty game to also be physical. My point I think they beat each other up a bit, and then the winner comes to town. I expect our defense to bring its A-game. I'm also going to think positively that we get our injured healed up, and bring what we're capable of as an offense.
It goes without saying Clay was frustrated after the Wofford loss. Furman under CCH has always responded well after situations like this. I expect we'll see a much better effort.
A note about that game -
The final score was ugly, but it was 7-3 at half time.
The game was played in the rain. On the road.
We had our split freshmen QBs with Grainger and Sisson. Our offense, if you all remember, was not exactly stellar that season. APSU also had some lightning quick specialist that started to break some long plays in the second half.
Our offense just didn't have enough get up and go to keep up.
Interestingly, we have a number of guys (Anderson, Roberto, Chizik, Blackshear, Miller, Gilby, Sochovka, and Barton) that played in that game.
This will be a different set up.
Right. But let’s be objective.
Is it any different now? I really ask.
We beat ETSU 16-8. Only common opponent. Sixteen to 8.
Ap beat ETSU SIXTY THREE to 3. Their offense has shown MUCH more get up and go. Their O is freakin scary.
I mean, is our offense stellar this season? No it is not. Amazing defense. Am@ing. But the close scores result from our offense inability to distance ourselves
