Hope we don’t play in Alley. Our team deserves better than poor alley arena. Hopefully we play downtown. Alley is perfect for volleyball but would be really hard to establish the atmosphere we want at basketball games. Our team deserves a nicer venue due to the quality of their play!

The only way alley would work in my mind if we legit fill it to the brim with Furman fans!
the whole thing started with a question on where the ladies would ply. Not the men. Men will play at the well. Ladies TBD

You know it might not even be “legal” for the ladies to play in a lesser facility than the men due to Title IX.

Happens all the time with some of the bigger programs that play in downtown arenas or larger campus venues and the women play in smaller venues, so yes will be no problem ;)

Correct, a good example is the lady Tar Herls don’t play in the Dean Dome they play in old Charmichael auditorium.

I’m speaking more about the equality of the facilities not the size. For example, the softball field at Furman originally had no lights. Since the baseball did have lights Furman had to provide that same opportunity to the ladies. So if there’s something lacking in the Alley that the men would have DT it could be an issue. Not sure if that’s an issue but that was my line of thinking.

Imagine there is some leeway during a transitional period. Accomodations during construction

After seeing the arena at Coastal, Timmons is great. Don’t ever complain about Timmons again.

Flags can you confirm that there is no way the Coastal arena seats 3,200. Even with the end zone seats its got to be smaller than Timmons.

About Us

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage

GoPaladins.com is not affiliated with Furman University or its athletics programs.
