SoCon Fans Power Poll

Not a great night for the SoCon:
WCU survives at MTSU WCU made 2 free throws with 3 seconds left won 66-64.
CITADEL loses at PC by 7
ETSU was never in the game at Butler and loses by 34
VMI loses by 10 to lowly SC.

Note on WCU-they have a pretty good shot at going undefeated in ooc. Their schedule is pretty weak. Probably the brst team left on their schedule is McNeese whom they play at home next.

They about blew it but good win for WCU, watched the entire game, WCU goes as Woolbright goes...
Was not very impressed with MTSU, poor free throw shooting and no decent interior players at all...

I must admit I'm starting to feel uneasy about WCU, they got all the culture and momentum with them now and Woolbright looks scary. I sincerely hope they lose soon just to kill that momentum a bit... these fears shouldn't even matter if Furman does well this weekend. Go Dins!

Slow down. MTSU is less than a top tier SoCon team. Not saying WCU isn’t pretty good this year, they seem to be, but all tonite proves is they aren’t bad.

And their schedule is hideously weak. The highest rated team they play ooc is #117 Vanderbilt.

It's a good thing for 2nd tier SoCon teams to win against 2nd tier teams from other mid major conferences.

WCU won't go undefeated OOC nor are they better than 3rd in the conference. Compared to pre season I would move them from 5th to 4th based on Samford looking rough early.

Vandy lost to PC by 10 and barely beat Upstate yet espn gives them a 75% chance of beatng Western. The bias toward the P5’s is crazy.

Ask Coach Richey about Western and he will say the same thing. Bob knows Western is well coached and has a lot of talent. We will have to go through Western to win the SoCon.

Western is almost 100% better than Samford, not to mention UNCG. they should be lowest 3rd if you are that high on Chatt and low on them

I would take Tre Jackson. Him and Woolbright are ballers

Our gameplan/coaching puts us at an advantage, but we'll see how our defense holds up when Woolbright gets into the paint and has his choice of shooters. It stopped working late in the tournament game and didn't work at Western. We can certainly be the top team if we stay locked in.
