Seems that Delaware was added to this list after a poll had them ranked high enough to possibly claim a Top 4 Seed (over Furman) with a WIN over Villanova...

Oh --- And from what FUBeAR has heard, this / these lists have had around 50,000 views on X...and someone tagged the Chair of the Selection Committee in a Quoted X of one of these lists. It is all but certain that the Committee Members will KNOW that they are using ONLY the voodoo math of SoS calculations IF they want to Screw Furman out of a Top 2 Seed (assuming a win over Wofford, of course)....especially since FU held on to the #2 Slot (barely) in this Week's STATS poll!!!

Furman holding the #2 spot is big, though there's only 8 points between Furman and Montana, which may be one or two voters.

There's a bigger gap between Furman and Montana State and, positively, a sizable gap with South Dakota at #5.

I guess we should pull for Montana State on Saturday.

Interestingly, Mercer is the lowest ranked team, but has 8 wins.

It's going to be a real head scratcher if the rankings say UTC is a top 20 team, but they can't make a 24 team field.

I think that's one reason why this season could be so important for Furman and the SoCon.

Some of these BSC and MVFC teams don't really travel in the post season. They sit at home for a few rounds and pick off whatever team shows up until having to face their own conference mates.

It would be big for the SoCon to host a few games. It would be big for the SoCon to drag some of these teams to our parks and play them on our fields and then let's see if some of these conferences are clearly that much better.

I was surprised how it was easy to leave off UTC when comparing ranked wins, FBS wins, and lastly SOS across those 7-4 teams. Poor UTC only has 1 ranked win right?

No current SoCon Team playing as a SoCon Team has EVER lost a Home game to a current Big Sky Team playing as a Big Sky Team.

Using the defined parameters above...

* Home SoCon Teams have defeated visiting Big Sky Teams by an average score of 42-10
* Visiting SoCon Teams are .500 playing @ Big Sky Teams
* SoCon Teams enjoy a .571 winning percentage advantage overall vs. Big Sky Teams

MVFC - the FargoDome has been a DeathTrap to all FCS Teams including SoCon Teams. FUBeAR ain't gonna calculate that ish. Youngstown may have come to Furman one time in the playoffs...Dunno...

Mercer just didn't get the 'bounce' some expected and certainly hoped for in the rankings from beating Samford. There will be some VERY ANGRY BEARS if they do not receive an At Large bid.

IF FU wins Saturday I think the Montana and Montana winner jumps them because of bias. The lead FU has is razor thin as it is. BTW on the CCH show this morning Hunter said the selection show is 1:30 Sunday on espnu. It’s actually at 12:30 so heads up.
