Furman transfer Darren Grainger is having a good year, leading Georgia State to a 3-0 record. His team will face Coastal Carolina tonight on ESPN at 7:30.

“In his last season before qualifying for social security/Medicare…..”

Seems like a lifetime ago I trekked down to Ga St to watch him lead the Paladins to an almost upset.

Ga. State up 17-3 at half. Grainger has ran for a TD and thrown for one. FYI former Furman center Evan Jumper has played in 2 games for CCU but not listed on their 2 deep.

Right! What was it? 5 -6 years ago? He played his best game as a Paladin that night. Love to know the true story on his leaving. His choice? or Furman’s? Glad the kid turned out to be a good QB. He had a lot of promise while here.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
