Based on a tweet… Austin Jones is enrolling in January - we need him, I think he will immediately add depth at Safety.
Furman has some other offers out there for other safties - fingers crossed.

This is a bit anecdotal —  Furman has several commits that play on teams that made deep playoff runs or won their state championship.

Several players with offers are playing in state championship games this weekend too.

Stumbled on an another Furman commit thanks to PaulC… looks like Furman has offered a PWO to MLB JR Schroeder (6-2 220) from Southside Christian.

Which led me to a post from the Index-Journal about the Southside/Abbeville matchup for the 2A State Championship game. http://www.indexjournal.com/sports/high ... 90395.html

Quote: Raber has multiple college offers but is undecided. Kimmelman is a Furman commit. Defensively, end Julius Thompson is a Citadel commit and linebacker JR Schroeder has received offers from Davidson and Johns Hopkins.

I think Jale Kimmelman is a nice local pickup… another big receiver. 6-2 185 also senior class president. Below is film from his AppSt Camp workout, pretty impressive.

Another thing. Is a PWO a partial scholarship ?? Or just a "preferred walk on" with no money allocated or what exactly ? I know a guy that had a PWO at another school and he got no scholarship but got the preferential dorms/ scheduling wtc

Most people identify a “Walk-On” as a Player, who is not a “Recruited Athlete” by the NCAA’s definition of that term. They also receive no Athletics Financial Aid and, thus, whatever financial aid they might receive, from other sources, doesn’t count at all toward the FCS allowed limit of 63 “equivalencies” - 63 x the equivalent $ amount of a Full Athletic Scholarship that may be awarded and ‘spread’ across 85 (I think it’s 85) Football Student Athletes.

A “Preferred Walk-On” is one that fits the definition above, but that is allowed attend Pre-season camp and does count toward the 95 (I think it’s 95) Players that Teams may have in camp before school starts. (Non-Preferred) Walk-on’s may begin practicing with the Team when school starts.

No idea what is allowable under NCAA rules as far as Dorm & Schedule Selection, but I’m sure they have it covered with 100 pages of arcane drivel.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
