Dabo has said they will continue to schedule in state FCS teams.

...and since FU is off on 9/2/23, what could be better than getting double checkmarks in that bucket list box by joining FUBeAR in "The Grove" on that Saturday to support a fellow SoCon Team in their quest to claim an FBS P5 SEC Scalp?

JD has said its hard to schedule because teams are waiting to see what the landscape will look like. Yet with that said new games/series’ are being announced almost daily so teams are not waiting. For example UTC and GWebb just announced a series for 2026 and 2030. In the SoCon only FU and MU do not have any games scheduled past 2026, practically every other team has games scheduled even into the 2030’s. Yes and these include FBS games, for example WCU has UGA in 2031. The longer FU waits to schedule games the options will continue to diminish.
I agree with apaladin on this matter. The Jackal wrote: ↑Sat Aug 19, 2023 2:53 pmapaladin wrote: ↑Sat Aug 19, 2023 12:53 pmFurman as far as we know has not scheduled a football game past 2025. Let the process play out. Furman has always had a football schedule and, more often than not, a good one.
I would rather hold out for a better FBS game with a school that offers something close to the following:
BFD. Just like Basketball no one will want to play us then.

- Within a time zone of Furman
- Averages more than 16,000 people per game
- In a major conference
- In an area of the country with enough alumni (40ish) to have a tailgate
- Willing to pay more than $425,000 for a game 3 time zones away
I'm pretty sure every FBS opponent since I went to school in '08 follows at least 4 of those guidelines. I think Furman can do better.
I'm OK passing on San Jose State
Easy. Go to San Francisco - head south. Most of the roads will go to San Jose. Highway 1 - the scenic route along the coast is about the only one that doesn't. All of the various southbound Interstate highways go close to or through San Jose.FUBeAR wrote: ↑Mon Aug 21, 2023 9:12 pmDon't even know the waypaladinfan12 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 21, 2023 5:27 pmI would rather hold out for a better FBS game with a school that offers something close to the following:
