Ah, I too have a pair of purple tinted glasses. What's crazy is, when you take them off, you can see that we lost our 2 best players from last year, while they retained theirs. Throw in the fact that they did everything except seal the win in Asheville, and it's not hard to see how he got there.
It's extremely hard, I can't find one objective fact to support this notion.
There is some chance WCU has a better team than Furman for the first time since 2016 despite obvious inferiority in numerous areas. However, it is not objectively possible to say that WCU is the *favorite* over Furman. It's mathematically false, not a matter of opinion.
