After weeks of Notre Dame tweets about Furman being JV or an extra off week for Clemson, I am breaking with my lifelong disdain for same and hope the Tigers beat ND like a rented mule. I

Furman would give ND a lot better game than some of the folks they played. I hope Clemson wears them out.....and they will.

IMHO Notre Dame is not one of the 4 top teams. Their only quality win was Michigan the first game of the season. They have struggled against mediocre teams such as Vandy, Pitt, Ball St. etc. Clempson wins BIG!!

After some UCF folks tweeted about Clemson scheduling Furman, I posted the highlights from our win there 3 seasons ago.

Yes, UCF scheduled Furman too.

I don't get it… the end result of the game was actually a good test for Clemson.

Looking back on the Clemson game Furman actually played as good if not better than many of the FBS schools that faced Clemson.

Wake and Duke scored less than seven points, Furman, GSU, NCST, all scored seven points against the Tigers. GaTech, Wake, FSU, Louisville, and SC gave up more than 48 points.

It's a big 'what if' but if Furman came into that game with a healthy Harris Roberts I bet we score 14-17 points.

This is not the forum to argue for Notre Dame, but I will say the Irish deserved to be in no questions asked, are very good, and should be able to hang with Clemson. Think the Tigers pull it out, but I'm not expecting a blow out. BTW, thought we played better against Clemson than Elon, for whatever that's worth.

This is all a tryout to see who gets pummeled by Alabama for the national title.

"Drunken Papists" - REALLY - on a football forum??? What century are you from? You sound like a 19th century "Know Nothing".

Not a fan of the Romans
When you say "Romans", are you referring to all members of the Roman Catholic faith? Or do you hold a general dislike for the ancient Meditteranian culture? Or is it present day citizens of the city of Rome?

Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die.
