I would expect a d2 home opener on Nov. 6th.
Was thinking the same, possible North Greenville again I would suspect...............

Well looks like the BIG10 and BIG12 are scared to play FU, I swear these 'big' schools are so pathetic...............

I guess we have to trust that Jason Donnelly and Bob Richey and others who work for Furman are doing everything they can do to get bigger names and experiences onto our 23-24 (and beyond) Men's Basketball schedule. I guess it is true that some of the head coaches and AD's at various schools, including especially Power 6 schools, are wary of playing Furman at those schools home courts', neutral courts, and definitely not at the Well or at Timmons.
Still, I continue to bemoan the fact that we cannot seem to get games with those Power 6 schools, when I look over the list of some of the opponents in the above links and see the the lists including the likes of
Wofford
Davidson
Colgate
Kennesaw State
Valparaiso
Stetson
Rider
UNCA
Northern Iowa
USC Upstate
Duquesne
Merrimack
Jacksonville
Jacksonville State
North Alabama
Wagner
Stonehill
Stony Brook
Lindenwood
Abilene Christian
Incarnate Word
Nicholls
Northwestern State
Evansville
Eastern Washington
Eastern Illinois
Manhattan
Oral Roberts
Monmouth
Radford
etc.
... but not Furman.
It seems that there still may be hope for Furman for 2023-2024, since there are still some "TBA" spots on several of those Big 10 and Big 12 lists.
In any case, the most important thing is to WIN whatever games we can get, and keep winning.

‘Problem’ is we win 20+ games a year , beat the majors including teams off a final four year, made the NCAA tourney and won against ACC champs.

Glad we have those ‘problems’

A quick glance shows that those teams have dozens of open schedule spots still unfilled. Only a couple of them seem to have completed their scheduling.
Also, most of their games against mid majors are regional - as you expect.
Wofford vs Oklahoma State is the only game I saw involving a SoCon team.

Whether it's South Carolina and Clemson and Georgetown (geographically the closest to Furman from SEC, ACC, and BIG EAST), or Texas A&M and Boston College and Creighton (geographically the farthest), or the others, I would be glad to see Furman get a regular season game against teams from all 3 of those conferences.
Cannot think of any Big 10 school that would not be great to go to.
If f we had the choice, I think I would prefer any any all of those (in the SEC, ACC, BIG EAST, and Big 10) over perhaps some places like Stillwater (Wofford) and Pullman and Corvallis and Eugene.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
