In the renderings, I love the white— it makes the arena POP.
Also, the foyer area entering the arena—is impressive.
Style-wise—kudos to Furman for going more modern than a classic athletic look.
Agree 100%

Really don’t see the need for a separate practice facility. They already have the best in the way of locker rooms, video, meeting rooms. Timmons will be a basketball only facility so it will be available except when the girls are using it, Wouldn’t practicing in the facility you play in be better than practicing elsewhere and than playing only games in Timmons?
I know what you mean, but conversely if Richey is asking for it he's probably got very good reason to do so...........

Plus, Timmons is used for many community events. Coach Richey and AD Donnelly have explained the reasoning many times. We are already behind other mid-major teams with the lack of a dedicated practice facility. All we are doing is playing catch up.

Capacity will be 2,750

Big games will be played at Bon Secours Arena
respectable.. about half of Ivy league schools have less or equal

I like your term “respectable”. As JD the AD said, “this is just to get us to the water-line.” I’d expect conceptualizations for a Timmons replacement to be incorporated into subsequent strategic plans.

In a nutshell:

1) We are going to have the nicest campus arena in the SoCon at Timmons, it will seat 2,750, we are hoping to make sellouts a regular thing

2) There will be luxury boxes and tons of new amenities

3) 500 seats will be reserved for students every home game when they are on campus, student involvement will be the backbone of our homecourt advantage

4) We will also have one of the largest arenas in the SoCon at Bon Secours Wellness Arena, 15,000 seats

5) Any game we anticipate that we could draw 4,500+ we will schedule for downtown Greenville, our goal is to eventually host a big time P6 opponent there and fill it up

Seating capacity will be more than adequate considering the average attendance of other mid major schools. For example,NCAA stats in 2022, App State averaged 2664 per game in a 8 k seat arena, Iona averaged 2181 per game, Belmont 1,996 per game, William and Mary averaged 2305 per game, Saint Mary's of Cal. averaged 2715 and St . Peters averaged 526 in attendance the year they went to the Sweet Sixteen in 2022.

Any word on the timeline? Any update on what is needed money wise. Does seating for 2,750 include the luxury boxes? 500 seats for students seems very high.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
