With the 2nd half success of the press against Mercer, I wonder if we'll see it employed earlier or more often against WCU?

CBR indicated on the postgame show it's exhausting and can "backfire". But given our bench strength I'd think the press would be very tempting - especially if our shooters aren't hot in the early going. To be sure, CBR and Bothwell both referred to "flying around" during the press. That's a favorite CBR term when describing our historically strong Defense, but which I haven't heard since it was more or less abandoned mid-season because it "just didn't fit this team." Maybe the team just needed a little more time to gel? Maybe with the maturity and deep bench they're ready to re-emphasize the D? What do you think?

Doubt you will see much of the press unless we fall behind against WCU. They have much better ball handlers and shooters than Mercer and I don’t thnk the results would be the same.

Full court press got us going against Mercer. I liked having Van running the point. Very heady player and will save Slaw for other parts of his game. Maybe put him on back line in 1-3-1 press.

Gotta play 40 minutes of good basketball. If we sleepwalk thru the First Half like we did yesterday, I'm afraid we'll get so far behind we can't catch up if WCU is hot. Above all, Slaw & Both have got to play like First-Team All Conference performers. Time for POY to show out!

Anyone that says we now have the easier path is only looking at the number of the bid beside each time, but at least this guy us covering the tournament, and that is appreciated. Playing WCU is certainly not on the easy path. There is no easier path to the SoCon Championship. The tournament is wide open for any of the four teams to win.

When the best team left is 18-14, that’s about as easy a final 4 as you can ever hope for. Relax. This is finally the year.
