Little help here…Link on Furman ticket website just sends me to Ticketmaster. How does Furman get a cut of my purchase if I’m just paying through Ticketmaster? I’d rather just buy at the door than give them my money.
It might be too late to purchase tickets though our website.

Yea, I think you are right. For good karma, I went ahead and purchased a full session book. This is our year - you gotta believe!!!!

While the Asheville area is nice, the Harrahs Asheville center is a dump. Other than location, I’m not sure why the SOCON continues to hold the tournament at this 3rd rate venue which is 50 yrs old. They really need to move the tourney to Bon Secours in Gville or another neutral location like Gas South arena near Mall of GA north of ATL, which is more modern and seats 12K. I also find parking at the Asheville center to be less than ideal.

I am on board with the tourney moving to Gville, but the attendance for SoCon tourney near ATL would be awful.

Kinda weird that Furman lost 3 games to 3 conference teams and with the bracket we could face those 3 teams in the tournament. What are the odds of that ? I think they are about 7% —= (3/9)(7/8)(2/7)(5/6) but I am no probability expert.

The website TeamRankings gives the Paladins a 44.8% chance of winning the tourney. UNCG is 22.8% and Samford is 13.1%. The rest of the teams are between 3 and 6% except for the Citadel and VMI who are 0.1% or less. They give the Citadel a 28.62% chance of beating Mercer, Western a 48.5% chance of beating Wofford and making the semifinals and UNCG a 43.6% shot at making the finals. So the odds that we face all three if we make the championship game are about 6%. TeamRankings still predicted the Paladins to have the best odds to get the #1 conference seed even after we lost at the Citadel and fell behind Samford in the standings so I like their model.

Dang it. I have been running a temperature between 100.5 to 102.5 since Sunday. Cough, cold symptoms, loss appetite, etc.. Knowing I had an eye doctor appointment on Thursday, I did a self test for covid. It was positive. In disbelief, I did two more. Both positive. Couldn't be worse timing.

Drink fluids, take fever meds, get rest, stay in good spirits, test each day. Some covid spells have been running through quickly so you can still be good for weekend or certainly sunday semis or monday finals.

About Us

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
