That was a good win on an emotional night. I was at The Citadel game and did not see any carry over from that loss. We played with a lot of energy, with crisp passes and a lot of assists. The only negative tonight was our free throw shooting. Coach Richey made a good point that most teams that lose games in which they were favored went on to lose a second game. ETSU is a talented team. Haynes and King can play with any team. I am happy with the win. Now, on to Wednesday night. Beat Mercer.

"sell out" was 2179. Cant be right. There was a game this year with 2500
Students did not show well tonight, you gotta remember they are setting aside a certain number of the 2,500 seats for students

The WCU game was 2,577. When you get there and see the go-go dancers there you know the students are not going to show well

Students didn’t show. Thanks to the ones that did,
Not making an excuse for the students. With it being Presidents’ Day tomorrow, it’s possible many were away.

If we take that level of play-the way we played tonight- I think we lose next week to Sammy and maybe win 1 game in the tourney. It was ugly IMHO. Always will take an ugly win and glad we still control our own destiny.

Moving forward I think Slaw and Bothwell need to combine for more than 20 (together scored 20 tonight). We have 6 guys who can really contribute in a major way (Slaw, Bothwell, Pegues, Foster, Hien and Williams). They need to all step up most nights. Contributions from VanderWal, Hughey & Whit would be icing on the cake.

Sammy has won by 1-1-2-6.
UNCG has won by 8-8-9.
FU has won by 4-7-8.

I could be 100 % wrong but I think UNCG is better than Sammy despite Sammy beating UNCG twice by 12 and 2. Based on our inconsistency (which showed up to some degree again tonight, I think UNCG is the team to beat which is why we need to really beat Mercer and then Sammy next weekend. One man’s opinion.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
