Will Furman be joining the Atlantic 10 for the 2023-2024 Basketball season, as rumored, or will we need to wait until 2024-2025?

Will every bit of the money for Timmons have to be in hand before construction begin. For example if 35 million is in hand will construction start?

will the new facility have broadcasters locker rooms, lounge, voice prep areas and court side specific seats so DS doesnt have to sit in the rafters? Gotta take care of the radio talent!

Did you know...

The A-10 has 15 members

10 are private schools
8 of 10 are catholicschools

Most west school is St Louis
Most north school is Umass
Most south school is Davy

All FU sports would have to fly to away games since (after Davy) the closes school is 5 hours away

A10 revenue per year is $24M. Thats $1.6M/school
SoCon revenue is $4M. Thats $400k/school

Guess that would pay for alot of plane rides

What willl the seating capscity be when complete? Please don’t make another mistake like the one 25 years ago by making it too small. We need room to grow and cannot do that without adding seats. FU basketball interest is at an all-time high, so let’s keep it going!

Unlike Apaladin I have the opposite concern. I would much rather have a smaller arena with a more packed crowd than a big arena with empty seats. I hope that FU realizes both the benefits and negatives with the size of the new Timmons.

We’ve recently seen several posts about statues at Furman. If we were, in the future, to erect a statue of Jason Donnelly on Furman’s campus…

1) Roughly, what year would it be dedicated?
2) Where would we put it?
3) What would be the 1st 3 accomplishments listed on the accompanying plaque?

haha. the last time a statue was brought up, Dins lost to Socon cellar dweller

whatever the capacity (SD thinks it will be 2500-3000) the main goal is the "wow" factor when a recruit comes out the tunnel

Unrelated, specious, and spurious correlation.

Sad Din is thinking about a real jinx, such as the Sports Illustrated or Madden Football covers. Those are empirically verified.

About Us

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
