2023 SoCon Basketball Tournament (March 3-6 Asheville)
Yes we certainly are better than last year, all the metrics prove it
They way I see it, this team is playing as a team better than last year, and is arguably deeper- with 9 players we can rely on to defend and score. Last year maybe 7 deep. Whereas last year we had a couple of 3pt shooters who could inflate our point total and bail us out of lackluster offense, this year we have to rely on team cohesion and CONSISTENCY on both sides. When our team has not been consistent, or when we've run with fewer than 9 ready players, we've dropped games to inferior competition (High Point). With our 9 playing at a high level, I think a run to the Sweet16 in a post-season tournament is definitely on the table.
The eye test and the results tells me that we are a much better team, especially in the second half of this year.

Maybe the New Timmons should have a Furman basketball Hall of Fame, corridor, room, section, and/or etc.
I remember (I think) one time when English shot, and instead of slapping it away Clyde went up and caught it with both hands. So humiliating! No way to make statue of that though.
