Nice win.

Not sure I understand all the chirping from WCU fans. They certainly seemed confident in their ability to come into Timmons and get a win. However, they ran into a buzz saw.

I love Furman’s consistency. We don’t always win, but it seems like the same team shows up every game. If the shots fall, we’re tough to beat.

I don’t understand the chirping either. I sit on the court across from the Furman bench. We were so far ahead most of the game that those students on the front row were very tame. As for the team win, we are so much fun to watch right now. You can really see the difference in the players expressions. They are playing with confidence and they are having fun. Let’s finish strong and go to Asheville as the #1 seed. Go Paladins!

Yeah, be proud of a win over a team down two players. Claude will be back for the tournament, and as I see it, it's 1-1 on the season. Don't think you will do it again on a neutral court with Claude in the game, and I didn't need an appointment to say that!!!
You have to use the term “team” loosely when referring to WCU. Bunch of individuals who had a total of 2 assists. FU had 21. Jackson is a good player but selfish. Obviously WCU is the much better team as they are 3-4 their last 7 games with a loss to Citadel. FU has won 8 in a row.

This team is playing so much better now than when western beat them on New Year’s Eve. Pegues has turned a corner in a big way, and they are so much better on the boards and defensively than they were at that time.

Listen, if Claude had played it, would it have been a 30+ point blowout? Not likely, but would it have been less than 10 points? Also unlikely if we play like that.

Furman won by 30+. They also didn’t shoot FT’s at the level we normal expect, and they missed their share of baskets close to the rim as well. So maybe Western fans should be happy they didn’t lose by more.

Also, I have no doubt that any western fan (that would visit a FURMAN message board) would have been completely humble in a 30 point victory if we had been missing 2 players. I’m sure they would have been very understanding.

WCU is in elite company, the 3 programs Furman has dominated and won the most against over the years:

VMI
Citadel
WCU

All 3 trash can programs :D

I agree with Coach Richey's postgame comments today. Western is a really good team, and they are improving. I didn't see the "individual" playing from them that some of you saw. That Jackson kid is good, really good, and he is fun to watch play the game. Quite frankly, I don't want to see them in the tournament. They will be a tough out. We just had a great game and they were tired from the Wofford game. We caught them at the right time. Thus, the big win. I am going to appreciate our play without knocking Western.
