Looks like a 3 team race:
1. Samford 8-1-lost to FU
2. UNCG. 8-1. lost to Sam
3. FURMAN 7-2 lost to uncg and wcu(this loss sticks out like a sore thumb)
4. 4 teams at 4-5
Would be hard to see FU finishing lower that 3rd but you never know. Big games this weekend:
Samford at Wofford
Furman at uncg-Sunday.

I think Wofford on a given night could beat any of the big 3. A lesser ditto for ETSU. Not surprised that on a given night Citadel can beat some folks. VMI might go 0-18 in conference. UTC clearly not as good now without Stephens.

Should be a three-team race and I would not want to play Wofford in the tournament.

I continue to say every year that holding down the number #1 seed is so important to winning the tournament. The top seed gets that noon game on Saturday, which gives that team all afternoon and evening to rest up for Sunday. we need to finish strong and win the regular season. Go Paladins.

Especially since the top 3 teams have basically separated themselves from the rest of the pack. The #1 seed is going to avoid the other top 2 teams until the championship.

Agree 100 % but I think the biggest factor is how are you playing at tourney time (injuries included etc.).

Sunday's game at UNCG actually will count as 2 in the standings if we lose, we would not only go to 3 SoCon loses but UNCG would sweep the season series with us giving them the tie breaker.

Gotta get this W on Sunday..........

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
