That was a great interview.answered alot of questions! JD seemed to imply that the practice facilities would come later "in time".
Does that mean $40M doesnt include practice facilities?

Anybody read it the same way?

If

I think it is part of the 40 million, JD just means in terms of construction phases

Not sure about the practice facility but glad its the last part. Best case scenario for the Timmons reno is for construction to start after next season. It is a little disappointing that after over 2 years before Mr. Curry’s generous gift we were not even close to the halfway point. 15 million in over 2 years so with still 15 million to go, raising that amount in a year is optimistic. Maybe with Mr. Curry’s gift that will inspire others to pull the switch.
only problem is... where they gonna practice during the reno? Old gym? Cant do that during VB season. Student gym? They both have 1 court to share between 2 teams

To those wondering about the new residence buildings:

'Due to the rising cost of materials and issues relating to the availability of subcontractors, the start of construction will be delayed until Spring 2023. The expected completion date of the new hall is now Summer 2024, and for the remaining phases, one year later.'

Flip the switch or pull the trigger?
I knew you could find negatives in a $10mill gift.

Hmmmm…. that’s negative? Maybe it’s just you looking for something that is not there to bitch about?

Perhaps stonemd inferred that your phrasing implied this connotation of “pull the switch “…which, you must admit, doesn’t have much positivity to it…other than the charge. ;)

Hopefully JD’s next podcast which is due soon can give us a little more info. Apparently the plans are ready since they were presented to Mr. Curry and a construction company has bern named and is ready. Would it be smart to go ahead and annouce/show the plans publicly to attract more donors?
JD interview with WSPA:
https://www.wspa.com/video/furmans-donn ... n/8312869/
JD does that interview in front of Grand Bohenian Hotel... if you havent been its very nice. There is now a reason to cross the bridge

would be a great place to have recruits and their familes. If it were SD, would pick them up in electric cart and travel to FU using the Swamp Rabitt trail

I bet they are regretting getting rid of the asphalt courts behind the old gym. They could have come in handy.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
