Bothwell didn't have a need to carry the team against Anderson. He contributed as needed; with eight assists.
Anyone who says money can't buy happiness never had season tickets.
And despite all those good points, I’d say we miss AH’s defense the most.Jasper wrote: ↑Tue Dec 20, 2022 5:31 pmFuonetime wrote: ↑Tue Dec 20, 2022 4:20 pm20-21 Season Alex Hunter had 105 Assists and 31 turnovers
This season thus far
JP has 52 Assists and 23 turnovers -29 mpg (minutes per game)
Joe 23 Assists and 7 turnovers -13 mpg
CW 20 Assists and 15 turnovers - 12 mpg
BTW, MB has 59 Assists and 26 turnovers - 33 mpg
Point Guard has to have a good ratio of Assists to turnovers. Still time to improve those numbers. Hope all of them do better in that department.
Very good stat. I would leave MB out of the discussion, but we clearly miss the overall play of Hunter. Not only did he take care of the ball and set up others he was an excellent 3 point shooter as well.
I think in part it is the 20 assists to 15 turnovers. He drives down the center of the court at a high speed and gets in the lane and frequently turns the ball over. A Wake fan said he just lost his confidence there and had no shot at all. I was hoping a new environment would help him regain his confidence. If he or Joe Anderson would bury their 3’s they would get to play a whole lot more (assuming their defense was not a liability).furpep wrote: ↑Tue Dec 20, 2022 11:51 amCan someone fill me in, please. What is the deal with Carter Witt? He appears to be buried on the bench. Is he in the doghouse, recovering from an injury or out of condition? With his background I had assumed he would be playing a larger role. Thanks for the help, and sorry if this was discussed somewhere else, but I was perplexed at only 8 minutes in a blowout game last night.

That would be 12-1 Fordham. Yep this SoCon is gonna be a breeze!! They were 12-23 from 3 until the last couple of desperation 3’s.FU Hoopla wrote: ↑Thu Dec 22, 2022 2:12 pmVMI lost @Fordham in overtime 80-77FU Hoopla wrote: ↑Tue Dec 20, 2022 9:41 amVMI has one game left @Fordham 12/22 before we play them

If we are anywhere close to what we’ve been saying we are, it should be pretty much of a breeze. I have deferred to smarter people on this. Before the season I opined that it was difficult to understand how we were going to be so much better after losing our good 3 point shooters. But it was gently explained to me that I was a complete idiot and that Anderson and Lawrence would obviously pick up that slack and then some. Heck it was pointed out that we had even a bunch more fantastic shooters just waiting to play. So obviously those guys are holding back getting ready to explode in conference play! Right?apaladin wrote: ↑Thu Dec 22, 2022 2:15 pmThat would be 12-1 Fordham. Yep this SoCon is gonna be a breeze!! You honestly think the offense is the problem?? We cheer for the same team, so let’s just rally them on into conference play. The defense is what we miss most about AH and CG, not their offense. Furman is yet again the top of the league in offensive efficiency, but sure, throw jabs that you were “right” about missing those guys. All people did here was lay out the shooting statistics of the returning players. Merry Christmas, Furmanoid!Furmanoid wrote: ↑Thu Dec 22, 2022 5:29 pmIf we are anywhere close to what we’ve been saying we are, it should be pretty much of a breeze. If my memory is correct Fordham was our first ever NCAA tourney opponent. They won.apaladin wrote: ↑Thu Dec 22, 2022 2:15 pmFU Hoopla wrote: ↑Thu Dec 22, 2022 2:12 pmVMI lost @Fordham in overtime 80-77FU Hoopla wrote: ↑Tue Dec 20, 2022 9:41 amVMI has one game left @Fordham 12/22 before we play them

Thanks I didn’t remember who all it was, but obviously you were one of those helping to get my mind right. So I admit to throwing a little jab back. Sorry. But I was struck the other night with how many people were dismayed by FU “jacking up” so many 3’s and missing. Not me though, because if I say a word on that subject I get pounded.PaladinPower wrote: ↑Thu Dec 22, 2022 5:36 pmYou honestly think the offense is the problem??
