Great game by Slawson and Bothwell...and coach saved them for the stretch and they came through....but other than that, they don't get a lot of help from the rest of the team.....we need guys that can make shots......still think Anderson is a good alternative as he can make shots...also Hein did a nice job with ket rebounds toward the end.....all in all we won a tough road game....

Indeed we need more guys to step up the scoring load consistently

Typical road game against a quality team. Lid on basket. Not getting many fouls called, etc. If we had been hitting our 3 pointers in the first half we would have been up by 25.

Didn't panic when ASU made their run. They got 2 foul calls in the last 4 minutes where all we did was breathe on them and those fouls were not called in the first half. Again typical road game.

Big shot by Bothwell and he hit every free throw. Could have gone the other way when we missed both 1 and 1's but bottom line a gutty road win. I think we won this one with our defense especially in the first half and in the last 4 minutes of the game.

This team knows how to win but is not as good as last year's team yet. I think by the end of the year Pegues, Vanderwal, and Whitt will have improved enough to make it so. Hughey is playing at the highest level of all the new players on this year's team. Williams and Lawrence are the wild cards. If they can make an impact things will go well.

Lots to learn from in this one. This one would have been a tough one to get over. Mike Bothwell!!!!

The KenPom shows a negligible slip from 61 to 62. Though we fell short of the spread, a nice win on the road kept us from skidding any farther.

…… and ASU moved up 7 spots.

Pleased with the win, it could have easily been a bigger margin but our outside shooting was off- 24%. Good teams need to find a way to win when that is happening - and we did. Obvious advantage of having quality veterans like Bothwell and Slawson - they kept their cool when things weren't going our way.

Big physical difference in starters from last year for App State. They were short but athletic then but were one of the taller lineups we will face this year. They had 6'11" and 6'10" inside today. Despite the advantage, rebounding numbers were identical for both teams. Slawson finished with 16 pts and 12 rebounds, which were better numbers than both of their taller guys combined. We had big advantages in assists, steals and turnovers although they did have a 6-2 lead in blocked shots. If we had just shot the ball to our usual standards this game wouldn't have been close. So many missed wide open threes.

Both Sagarin and Pomeroy had us as about 5 point favorites and we won by 4. Pretty accurate.

That’s all well and good but they don’t give any points for D. We need some offense. Disappointed we didn’t put it away with free throws until MB finally did. Speaking of CBR, it was good to have him back on thr postgame. Hope it continues. That was a crazy last part of the game. FU goes 6+ minutes without scoring and ASU goes on a 17-0 run. They return the favor and go 4+ mins without scoring FU goes n an 11-0 run. ASU only scored 4 points the last 6:03.

Pretty sure CBR will be doing radio interview for road games, but for home games he does the youtube media interviews right after the games, which are alot better as more people can see it over the long haul plus they can last between 10-20 mins.

“They don’t give any points for D.” Wow. You might want to make that statement to Coach Richey, or to any basketball coach for that matter.

What exactly happened the second half?

I watched the first half and was satisfied and went to home group. Then confusingly watched the last minute of the game.

Just missing shots and sloppy turnovers, the usual that leads to big runs
