From LSU to Incarnate Word, 7th-year QB Lindsey Scott Jr. is thriving at his 5th school

https://theathletic.com/3903247/2022/11 ... t-griffin/
Last week a TWENTY THREE yr old NC State starter.. this week an LSU / Missouri SEVENTH YEAR (24?).. I am glad we may get Huff again but I think 6 years ought to be the cap. When you start talking seventh year of playing in college it just seems wrong to me somehow

I cannot pass up this opportunity.

well played!

Lindsey Scott the UIW QB scares the heck out of me. Plus he is a dual threat.

I have a feeling that for us to win our offense is going to have to be clicking on all cylinders. The best defense here might be playing keep-away.

We are going to have to connect on the short wide open passes and convert third and short opportunities.

I think we can win but it may take our best game of the year.

Scott was a 1,000 yard rusher for Nicholls last year. For whatever reason, UIW runs him about half as frequently and for a lot less yardage. There's no question he can run.

I was pretty nervous about Furman's ability to contain McKay on Saturday. McKay was a shifty runner that had over 500 rushing yards on the season. Furman did a very good job of keeping him contained in the pocket and not allowing him to get loose.

Furman has faced a number of very good QBs this year and done a solid job with each of them.

Midway in the 2nd quarter their offensive and defensive lines are going to be like "WTF". We demoralize them from there.

guy from bluebloods said on sunday he was taking furman +17.5 this weekend.that is a far different line than the +8.5 i saw earlier today or the +4.5 i saw earlier on this thread.
two other items i heard on his thread.the iw coach may be considered for the tulsa job.

the other he pointed out that 3 of the 5 gardner webb losses were to marshall, coastal carolina and liberty all close games.they had over 400 rushing yards vrs eku.their coach is trey lamb.is that bobbie's son?

Tre is Hal Lamb's son - Bobby is his uncle.

You’re both wrong. Tre Lamb is Taylor Lamb’s 1st cousin.

Is anybody going to San Antone?

If so, the Riverwalk area is nice and near the Alamo. Good restaurants, boat rides/carriage rides. We felt pretty safe considering it's a big city. I had a much better time there than my dad did. He was at Fort Sam Houston there during WWII (the Big One).

I listen to every FCS podcast I can find.
Big difference between the podcasters who actually watch the games and those who just look at the box score and stats.
The former are very impressed w Furman.
The latter consistently predict Furman to lose.
I think part of lower ranking in pass defense is because teams just can’t run against us.

Good theory. It would be interesting to see the run/pass mix against Furman vs other teams.

About Us

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
