Mercer & Chatt both good teams, but each losing 3 of their last 4 games cost them

Furman gets a shot at arguably the second best CAA team. Win that, and they get to try and beat the team we argued shouldn't have been seeded over us.
Samford may well get a Big Sky team in Birmingham. Win that, and they could go to Fargo and try to upend the Bison.
To start winning some of these arguments, we gotta start winning these games again.

It is time for the Southern Conference to start winning playoff games.
Having said that I don’t think a team 4-4 in their conference (Delaware) should be in the playoffs.
I agree totally. The entire purpose of a playoff is to pit teams against each other who (typically) haven't played in the regular season to determine who is better. If 3 teams from your conference are better than you, why do we need to see how good you are vs the rest of the field? At least with Holy Cross, they MIGHT be better than every other team- it has yet to be proven they aren't.purplehorse wrote: ↑Sun Nov 20, 2022 10:10 pm100%The Jackal wrote: ↑Sun Nov 20, 2022 9:47 pmSoCon talks a big game, but there's a good opportunity here.

The fact that THIS year's Delaware team lost 4 times SHOULD mean more than LAST year's Delaware team's (or their conference's) performance in the postseason.
